Bitcoins can be used to support corruption whereas the new quantum encrypted currency that China is working to finalise will stop corruption because every singe monetary transfer can be traced. The mining of bitcoins is dirty as it takes a lot of electricity to ‘find’ one and, mostly, dirty coal is used to mine bitcoins because dirty coal is cheaper but it is incredibly polluting. China has to meet with Climate Change protocols and dirty coal would jeopardise that commitment.
It also stops the need to replace paper currency on a regular basis because with too much handling bank notes need to be destroyed and replaced and coins have to be taken out of circulation and new ones minted. This just saves China a lot of time.
